This section of the Meet Me At the Fair, The 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, pertains to Booklets/Brochures. This will include anything sold and/or given out to fairgoers.
For the curious, I own none of these pieces.
Though not exactly a booklet, this informative pamphlet was given to assist Fairgoers to hotel information, travel/transportation, World's fair comparisons, and the like. The 2 3/4" x 5" pamphlet could be expanded to a 15" x 10" fold out map of the Fairgrounds, St. Louis and a photo of the Cascades/festival Hall.
This particular pamphlet was given out by Missourian- Baird Pallette, of the National Life Insurance Company.
The picture to the right is a closeup of the back of the brochure, detailing it's giver. A subtle way of advertising.
National Life Insurance Company was formed on November 13, 1848 and was partially founded by Julius Yemans Dewey, medical doctor of Montpelier, Vermont.
All of National Life’s outstanding shares are now owned by its parent, NLV Financial Corporation, which is the wholly-owned subsidiary of the parent holding company, National Life Holding Company. It's home office is in Vermont.
